What I learned from being an Expat in Switzerland: 10 months in the making ✨ 🤗1. Getting to know people Joining a local volunteering organization, taking part in job fairs, or just going to the gym – in all these places, you can meet new people by starting a conversation 📚 2. Learning the local language Sounds simple until you get to know German grammar! On-site language courses are a great opportunity to learn the language and meet people from all over the world. I took advantage of both! 🕚 3. Give yourself time Rome wasn’t built in a day, and relocation is not as easy as it may seem. Getting used to a new environment takes time. It’s not a vacation - you're not just sightseeing. Daily problems occur no matter where you are, but that's completely fine! ➡ 4. Keep moving forward I've had millions of thoughts about returning to my home country. And from speaking with my friends who are also expats, I know I'm not alone.
