Business situation good, business expectations even better – this is what local companies are telling their bi-lateral German Chambers of Commerce abroad (AHKs) in almost all locations in the Asia Pacific region. In September and October 2023 more than 800 AHK member companies were surveyed on their business prospects. In Malaysia, the survey reveals that 66% of businesses anticipate positive growth for their local companies, with 49% envisioning favorable economic development over the next twelve months. Exciting insights into US market expansion! 🌎 Borenius, in collaboration with Amcham Finland, hosted a series of seminars in Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, and Oulu earlier this month. The seminars were designed to address the growing interest of Finnish companies in the US market, which has been Finland's most important trading partner and a market showing strong growth since mid-2023.   The seminars featured Michael Klyszeiko, Director of AmCham Finland’s Launchpad USA, who shared his expertise in guiding Finnish companies to the US market. This event was organized by Italcham Malaysia - Italian Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia, the Embassy of Italy in Kuala Lumpur, and the ITALIAN TRADE AGENCY - Agenzia ICE, Kuala Lumpur A couple of takeaways from the Minister's presentation include: 1) The Madani Economy framework aims to boost economic and social development, ensuring sustainable growth and social stability. 2) Development will be propelled by high-quality investments in six growth engines: reindustrialization driven by NIMP 2030, the green transition, digital transformation, world-class infrastructure and public services, a focus on high-value services, and synergistic vertical integration of the States. 3) The establishment of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Malaysia and the EU has strong governmental support and will facilitate the participation of Italian and EU businesses in the execution of the Madani Economy framework. Technology was central to the plan and was one - "Tech Up" - of the six engines of growth, encompassing talent development, smart manufacturing, and locally grown solutions. The High-Level Dialogue on ASEAN Italy Economic Relations is the reference event for strengthening economic and strategic ties between ASEAN countries and Italy. The first six editions–Jakarta (2017), Singapore (2018), Hanoi (2019), the 2020-2021 digital editions, and Kuala Lumpur (2022)–brought together more than 2,500 Chairmen and CEOs of companies, Ministers, and Institutional leaders from ASEAN Countries and Italy. In 2023, the High-Level Dialogue on ASEAN Italy Economic Relations will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, with an in-person event. It will fall on the 155th anniversary of Italian-Thai bilateral relations.
