Had a constructive meeting at the Asian Productivity Organization, Tokyo Japan in Tokyo, Japan alongside the distinguished delegation from USIM Education & Skills Development Sdn. Bhd. (UESSB), Malaysia. Led by Chairman Dato’ Jabar Azman Jaafar, our discussions revolved around fostering collaboration to integrate productivity concepts into educational programs and organizational services. Honored to be recognized for past contributions to the APO’s Training of Trainers in Green Productivity program. This collaboration in the early 2000s played a pivotal role in institutionalizing the Green Productivity concept among APO member economies. Associate Professor Dr. Jamal Abdul Nassir Shaari shared UESSB's commitment to education, skill training, and consultancy. Our focus is on exploring opportunities with the APO to adapt and certify environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. We delved into strategies for retaining a quality workforce and discussed the development of culture-specific standards to enhance Malaysia's national productivity movement. The meeting concluded with a commitment to ongoing communication and exploration of collaborative opportunities, highlighting the APO's crucial role in sharing sustainability knowledge and fostering economic progress in the Asia-Pacific region. Excited about the possibilities ahead! https://lnkd.in/dNUmnV89 #Sustainability #Productivity #Collaboration #ESG #AsiaPacificProgress

Recently, I was invited by Joe Chong, CEO of Allinial Malaysia member firm, ASQ Consulting Group Malaysia, to attend an informative event in Shenzhen focused on promoting Chinese companies' expansion into Malaysia. The event focused on "Malaysia's Business Environment and Investment Strategy Analysis" and covered a variety of topics, including an introduction to Malaysia's economic zones, an analysis of investment opportunities and prospects in Malaysia, regulations and tax laws related to company registration and factory establishment in Malaysia, and legal services for Chinese companies investing in Malaysia. The speakers at the event were experts in their respective fields and provided valuable insights on the current business climate and investment opportunities in Malaysia. One of the key takeaways from the event was the importance of understanding Malaysia's business environment and investment climate to make informed investment decisions. Malaysia is an attractive investment destination for Chinese companies due to its strategic location, business-friendly policies, and the availability of skilled labor. However, it is essential to be aware of the regulations and tax laws related to company registration and factory establishment in Malaysia to ensure compliance and avoid any legal issues. Overall, the event was a great learning experience, and I am grateful to ASQ for organizing it. I gained valuable insights into Malaysia's business environment and investment opportunities and look forward to exploring the possibilities of investing in Malaysia for our clients in Hong Kong as well. #Allinial #ASQ #InvestMalaysia

I had an incredible week in Malaysia, engaging with customers, partners, suppliers, and our exceptional team members. The stories I heard were truly inspiring, and I'm thrilled about the exciting prospects unfolding as the digital economy flourishes for both the Malaysian Government and enterprises. One highlight was delivering the opening keynote at the W.Media - Global Cloud and Data Conference in Kuala Lumpur last Thursday. It was a fantastic event, and I was honored to be a part of it. In a world reshaped by rapid technological advances, Malaysia stands at the threshold of an exciting transformation. Embracing innovation and digital technologies unlocks the nation's true potential, fueling productivity, sharpening competitiveness, and paving the way for sustainable development. The benefits are abundant, and Malaysia has a golden opportunity to ride the digital wave to unprecedented economic success. From an economic perspective, the digital economy offers businesses a gateway to global markets, expanded customer bases, and streamlined operations through automation. It enhances productivity, fosters innovation, and nurtures entrepreneurship, propelling growth and job creation. Beyond economic gains, the digital economy fosters inclusivity by bridging urban-rural divides, providing equal opportunities for all Malaysians. It's projected to contribute between 25%-30% of GDP by 2025, according to the National Tech Association of Malaysia (Pikom). Malaysia's path to digital dominance relies on digital infrastructure investments, innovation, and support for digital industries. Public-private partnerships, streamlined regulations, and an entrepreneurial ecosystem are essential. Collaboration, investment in digital infrastructure, and fostering innovation will propel Malaysia to new digital heights. The nation's digital journey has just begun, promising inclusive growth and a dynamic future.
