Every industry event has its charm and vibe. FESPA was incredibly friendly and colorful. As you would expect from a major printing trade show. Here are a few neon-bright highlights from last week's FESPA Anastasiya Shauchuk and Georgy Romelashvili attended in Amsterdam: All things print At FESPA, you could find all things print from large-format textile printers to unique materials and inks. The diversity of products, equipment, and services presented at the event was staggering. In contrast, the software part was somewhat limited, represented by several major automation solutions and product companies. Experience meets innovation Rubbing shoulders with professionals who have not just years but decades of experience in the industry gives a unique perspective on how this market works. At FESPA, you can see the wealth of experience meet innovation and shape the printing industry and business. Attendees The event welcomed 500+ exhibitors across digital and textile printing, signage, materials, and manufacturing. This is undoubtedly one of the best places to meet and learn from the big players and innovators in the field, understand how the industry works, and watch it transform to adjust to modern challenges.  Sustainability Sustainability was one of the major topics at the event as more and more companies strive to reduce their footprint. The event itself championed this initiative featuring the Sustainability Spotlight area to discover environmentally friendly solutions for printers. Networking and atmosphere Like many other niche events we attended before, FESPA stands out with a laser focus on the current challenges and opportunities in one industry. But what strikes the most is the incredibly friendly and warm atmosphere creating a space for open conversation, personal approach, and meaningful networking. World Wrap Masters The World Wrap Masters competition was a real feast for the eyes. Who knew vinyl wrapping could be such a mesmerizing show? All in all, the breadth of experience, friendly atmosphere, and ample networking opportunities made FESPA an unforgettable experience. CEO Koenig & Bauer Dr Andreas Pleßke says three megatrends are impacting the print business. These are sustainability, digitisation, and skilled staff. Sustainability is driven by regulation, brands, young people, and social media. Companies must address waste and reduce fossil fuels and fast-fad fashion. Digitisation means a future where everything is digitalised, making workflows more efficient and sustainable. At Drupa, visitors will see steps in this direction. There is a shortage of skilled staff worldwide, and this negatively impacts growth potential. This is not just a problem in Germany but all over the world. As equipment becomes more complex, the requirements for the skills needed to operate it also become more complex.
