We are delighted to announce that we have signed key agreements for groundbreaking renewable energy projects in Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 We signed the Investment Agreement (IA) for a 1GW wind project located in Karakalpakstan. The IA was signed by H.E. Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and our Chairman, Hussain Al Nowais. Furthermore, we signed the IA and Battery Storage Service Agreement (BSSA) for a standalone 300MWh BESS project. These agreements were signed by Shokhrukh Karabayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzenergosotish JSC, Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power, and Basma Bentaher, our Chief Development Officer. These agreements were signed on the sidelines of the official visit of H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates. Back from an inspiring week in Shantou, China 🇨🇳! It was a privilege to deliver two speeches and participate in a signing ceremony between #ChinaGeneralCertification (CGC), #CRPower, and Energy Innovation - NORWAY during the remarkable Shantou International Wind Energy Technology Innovation Conference, attended by over 600 delegates. A highlight of the week was learning about CGC and CR Power’s ambitious new project—a 17,000 m² training center in Shantou, poised to become China’s leading hub for Global Wind Organisation (GWO) training and education for the wind industry. This state-of-the-art facility will be a key part of Energy Innovation Global’s franchising network. Joining me was Knut Magne Johannessen CEO of our sister company, Elevon Group, and Senior Advisor for NorSea as we explored opportunities and fostered collaboration across this rapidly evolving sector. Our agenda included productive meetings with Mingyang Smart Energy , CWHI (CNOOD-Wenchong Heavy Industries) , and Dajin Heavy Industry Co.,Ltd. We also visited industry leaders like #Blue_Ocean_Wind (the largest manufacturer of jacket foundations for offshore wind in China), Goldwind and Shanghai Electric Power Generation Engineering Company, which recently commissioned and are now testing a 16 MW turbine in Shantou. It’s clear that Chinese offshore wind manufacturers are emerging as global leaders with their: ✔️ Cutting-edge knowledge and innovation ✔️ Robust capacity and motivation ✔️ Strong ESG platforms They are well-positioned to become key providers of turbines and foundations— across continents. 📢 Joint Statement of the 40th HAPUA Council Meeting The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) participated in the Joint Statement of the 40th HAPUA Council Meeting on 23 August 2024 in Siem Reap, Cambodia. #HAPUA reaffirmed ASEAN’s commitment to enhancing regional energy connectivity, grid integration, and sustainability. This Joint Statement aimed to ensure successful utilisation and delivery on the renewable energy (RE) integration and multilateral power trade (MPT)determined to uphold the ASEAN Plan of Action on Energy Cooperation (APAEC) Phase II, Programme Area No. 1: ASEAN Power Grid (#APG). HAPUA’s commitment includes supporting the progress of AIMS III Phase 3, a cornerstone for regional cooperation, focused on endorsing the proposed MPT framework and further engagement with Development Partners (DPs) and International Organisations (IOs) for the viability of multilateral electricity trading in the ASEAN region. 📅 Tomorrow is Day 1 of **Regional Stakeholder Consultations on Energy Connectivity and Sustainable Energy** in Astana, Kazakhstan. This event aims to gather expert opinions to inform the implementation of the ESCAP-UNECE Programme on Energy Connectivity in Central Asia and the Caucasus, launched in January 2024. The programme encompasses three technical projects:  **Energy Connectivity for Sustainable Development (ECO-REM):** Developing a subregional roadmap to enable multilateral power trading and sustainable cross-border trade of renewable energy resources.  **Energy Connectivity in Central Asia:** Crafting scenarios and a roadmap for a regionally interconnected energy system in Central Asia.  **Enhancing Energy Security and System Resilience:** Conducting technical workshops to build policy design capacity for resilient and connected energy systems in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Strong government support for private companies moving into the #offshorewind space can be an enormous asset, as one of GWEC's members, Marco Polo Marine Ltd, has been discussing in the Straits Times 🙌🏻🌊 Marco Polo Marine had the support of Enterprise Singapore's Scale-up Programme when the company was planning to expand its business from oil into a more stable sector - #renewables 🚀 The programme helped Marco Polo Marine sharpen its business growth plans and through other EnterpriseSG-led mission trips overseas, like the GWEC-supported trip to WindEnergy Hamburg last year, they were able learn more about the needs of governments and industry players in the offshore wind sector worldwide.
